Football vampires cont.
October 17, 2009
Last month we published the football preview section, and here are some of my favorite images from this fun production. I used a lot of voice-activated light stands and had fun experimenting with wireless strobes.
This year’s theme was tv-series, and each team was assigned a show based on its’ personality and story.

Football vampires and Merced Entourage
September 5, 2009

High school football is a big deal in the Central Valley. For the last month I have been shooting the special section photos for the football preview, and it’s been really fun to hone my multiple-strobe skills and trying to recreate TV-series covers with a slightly smaller budget than CBS has… James Burns, head of the sports dept, worked wonders in Photoshop, and the result can be seen here. You can also check out videos with interviews, and I might be seen in the background chimping furiously!
Katie and Scott’s Petaluma wedding
August 16, 2009
Katie and Scott got married earlier this summer in a beautiful church in Petaluma. I had a wonderful time photographing their wedding, and the wind cooperated beautifully for me to get some fun veil-flying pictures during the portrait session at the steps of the church. Thanks Katie and Scott for letting me share this day with you!

The circus comes to town
July 14, 2009
Carson & Barnes Circus arrived in town recently with elephants, contortionists and more than a few clowns. I had a blast shooting behind the scenes, and also put together a soundslide for the paper about life on the road for some of the teens traveling with the show. It was a busy day — I started shooting five hours before my shift began, and once it started, I was juggling three other assignments while producing the piece, making me feel quite at home at the circus. Here are some of the stills that went into the piece, and quite a few that didn’t.

Angela and Tomislav’s engagement photos

Earlier this year I met up with Angela and Tomislav at Hakone Estate & Gardens. We had a great time taking pictures at this beautiful park, and also made a quick stop at Testarossa Vineyards in Los Gatos.

A special kind of wedding
June 20, 2009
Last month I was the official photographer for the Norway Day Festival in San Francisco. The highlight of the two-day event was a traditional wedding ceremony, and I had a fun time photographing this wonderful couple as they renewed their vows. The bride wore a replica of a wedding crown made in the early 1800’s. Many thanks to the couple, Carl and Mary Beth Ingvoldstad, and Norway Day for letting me photograph and post these pictures!

Allison and Luke’s wedding
June 1, 2009
Allison and Luke promised to love eachother forever during a beautiful, warm outdoor ceremony at the Pasatiempo Inn in Santa Cruz on May 16. I had the privilege to photograph this young couple’s engagement photos back in October, and was very happy to get to work with them again!
Here are some of my favorite photos from that day.

Donna and Francois wedding
May 25, 2009
I recently photographed Donna and Francois’ wedding in Oakland with my friend Regas. The ceremony was at the brand-new beautiful Cathedral of Light the Christ. Having photographed the opening of it a few months back for the Oakland Tribune, I was excited to return to this stunning church.
As Regas was photographing the bride getting ready, I got some shots of Francois and his twin-brother and best man, Pierre. It was easy getting great shots of these handsome men!
The reception was at another Bay Area landmark, the Claremont. The couple was radiant and a lof of fun to work with. Here are a couple of shots from that day.

This looks an awful lot like a paper in the chain I used to work for! It recently earned a spot on the fail blog, which has some hilarious posts. Does anyone know what day this paper was published?
